Straight answers.
What is PPF?
Paint Protection Film is a clear protective film installed over painted surfaces. It creates a tough, replaceable layer that helps protect your original paint while preserving the vehicle's appearance.
How does PPF protect paint?
PPF takes the exposure first, helping reduce paint damage from rock chips, gravel and road debris. The film is sacrificial, meaning it can be damaged while protecting the paint underneath. It does not make your vehicle damage-proof.
What is SPP Performance Paint Protection Film?
SPP Performance is our selected line of clear paint protection film. We choose the film with Hawaiʻi's sun, warmth and humidity in mind, focusing on clarity, durability and protection for your original finish. Michael personally installs the film, and SPP backs it with our 12-Year SPP Limited Warranty.
What does the 12-Year SPP Limited Warranty cover?
SPP Performance film is covered for 12 years against yellowing, cracking or bubbling caused by a material defect. We also stand behind our installation. If an edge lifts because of an installation defect within the first 90 days, we'll correct the affected area at no charge. Coverage excludes normal wear, rock-impact damage, scratches, improper washing or care, and normal dirt buildup along exposed edges.
What are the most common areas to protect?
The front bumper, hood, front fenders and mirrors are common starting points because they face frequent road exposure. Rocker panels and other vulnerable areas can also be protected based on your vehicle and how you drive it.
What is the difference between Full Front and Full Body PPF?
Full Front focuses on the front-facing areas that take frequent road exposure. Full Body extends protection across the vehicle's painted exterior for more comprehensive coverage. We confirm the exact panels, coverage and edge treatment in your proposal before installation.
Can PPF be installed on a brand-new vehicle?
Yes. Installing PPF early helps protect the original finish before everyday driving leaves chips and marks behind. We inspect and prepare the paint before installation, even on a brand-new vehicle.
Can ceramic coating be applied over PPF?
Yes. A ceramic coating compatible with PPF can be applied over the film to help with water repellency and easier cleaning. PPF provides physical protection, while ceramic coating adds surface protection and helps with maintenance.
